w0ooot I just got my beta invite for Secret World!!!!

W0ooo0oo0ooottt!!!!!!

Hey Bunnz!   I don't know if I can do wow anymore, just one those things.  If I went with an old school game I'd rather go with the bugs and twinking of AO.  too bad nobody plays anymore.  Rimor looks like a ghost town these days, people begging for mergers.

But did I mention I got my TSW beta invite today???

W0oo0o0o0t!!!

Good lord, bit excited Juttlers? We still on for meet and drink in Seattle? I doubt I'll play TSW Sad

Hi ADII folks - golly thanks for keeping this up Gondul! Smiley

Just throwing this out there - I'm in a guild in WoW that is a good home for anyone who still loves WoW and wants a home. I'm not raiding but my guild is pretty decent - semi-hardcore 25M guild on Skywall Server. They raid M, W and Thurs - 6pm Pacific -10pm Pacific and are pretty decent in progression 6 of 7 Firelands Heroic - 25M? PVE recruitment needs are posted on the website:

http://www.choiceguild.com/forum/content.php

We have some current needs so just throwing this on this forum if anyone is still interested in raiding.

My REAL reason for posting though: My passion! PvP of course Tongue

I along with my buddy are rolling a weekly Rated Battleground team - Tuesdays 6-9ish Pacific and picking up Sunday nights 6-9pm for RBGs. This is a PVE centric guild so we have a couple of key slots for PvP cenric folks if anyone wants to do pvp and is willing to transfer.

Resto Druid - we need a tree to roll some hots
Mage- Frost for control
DPS Warrior (possibly offspec tank for Sunday nights)
Warlock- yummy dots and fears
Alt Healer - will consider Disc Priest or Holy Pally if good.
Hunter -would be nice to have a PvP hunter on crew.

For this group: also whatever you got we'll try to mix it into the mix - lemee know what specs/professions are available.

We regularly roll drunken bgs and arenas for good times and laughs and gearing. We are looking for good people who want to start from the ground up, some of us have experience in PvP others are willing to learn... so if you are looking for 2200+ rating, probably not this group, but good times with bunny.. come on over.

This is our website, really great guild with good players (reminds me a lot of ADII and comes pretty close)

Also my real id: cyrinniaslade@gmail.com i went nutso a while back and lost all of you on real id so add me if you want to chat about guild, life or want to roll a bg/dungeon sometime!

I received the beta key for Star Wars- and frankly didn't download it. Wierd but 6-7 years after WoW launch I'm having the best time of my life gamewise at the moment. I'm in a great guild with others who adore pvp and are slowly building a good crew to wreck Rated Battle Grounds on a regular basis. Come join us for drunken pvp nights if you are looking for a home in WoW. I won't be picking up Secret World or Star Wars.

<3 ya goons,

Bunnz

Jut,

Yeah I get tempted too and then I realize I would have NOOOO clue where the hell I am, how to get into any of my gear if by chance I had taken any off. I know on Cailet I took off my shoulders when I came back once and I still think I logged her off equiped with pillows trying to remember how to get her back into it! haha!

Late into the convo but my wife and I will be playing SWTOR.

It is very WOW, which is not a bad thing, after playing many MMOs the controls in WOW just work. I find that if you fiddle with them just a bit you can either A) make the game feel strange or B) actually improve it. Unfortunately the results are almost always A because not enough testing goes into that aspect.

I do agree though I kind of miss the "openess" of skill point allocation. But I understand why developers do it, it simplifies balancing. But even with things like AO you have some best of the best builds and to do anything else tends to gimp your character so it is not as open as we would like to think it is. But I do miss AO's twinking, I don't think we will ever see the likes of it again, god how I miss running around for an hour trying different ways of getting that 1 extra tutorial point to equip something else that would give me the points to put in that one extra implant level that would let me get into that other piece of armor that would...

I we are starting Republic side first with Jedi ( I did really love the IA too, the Shiv was a cool effect ). Just waiting on seeing when we get early access, I didn't pre order till Oct so I have a feeling we might not get in till tomorrow.

I used to love EVE, but it takes over your life Smiley  Got an account you can have if you want, think the character has around 7mil skill points.

I think TSW will be a breath of fresh air.  Looking forward to spending hours putting together different builds and such.  do we get to allocate stat points? or is it solely gear and skills?  The no level thing should be interesting, I remember reading that mobs don't have levels, you had to gauge how tough they were by their looks.  So could it be a thinking persons mmo? I hope so.

I don't know, may take up eve on the three months for 15 bucks thing in the meanwhile, before Secret World comes out.

I have to say TSW just keeps on making me anxious.

Spoke with Cdogg, the current head of the Rennaissance in AO, and he is in beta, says he loves but his computer is a little too old for it.  He said it looks great, combat's great, and he loves the quests and such.  Said the pvp was actually fun, who'da thunk.

You know, a game with no levels, i mean, it's just something that will take a while to sink in that you can't look at someone and figure out how strong they should be just based on gear and the number next to their name.

Will anyone be playing?  I'm will be there at launch and rolling an imperial agent, tried most classes out on each side over the beta weekends and for me the IA stands out.

Just trying a Jedi Knight at the moment, story is weaker than the IA, did a flashpoint with the IA, the group conversations don't really work imho. The story certainly makes the usual fetch carry kill quests go quicker, game seems to flow nicely.

I agree on the simple development, but that is the way MMO's seem to be going - I long to allocate stat points like in AO.

You can speed up the convos by hitting left mouse, stops them gabbling, just read the summary text Smiley
